Write the email you shouldn't send. Send it to us instead.

For one dollar, our team reads your draft and returns the majority opinion and any dissent on whether sending it crosses the line. You keep the final say. We keep your pulse slightly lower.

To whoever ate my yogurt,

My name was on it. In marker. I hope it was worth it.

Some of us plan our lunches. Could whoever took it please replace it?

Thanks,
The yogurt's owner

Three steps and a cooling-off period.

  1. 1

    Paste the draft

    you write it hot

The reply you haven't sent, the resignation you keep polishing, the group-chat paragraph. Take out names and anything identifying first.

  2. 2

    Pay a dollar

    one per draft

One payment. A private case page. Your draft goes to the team after checkout.

  3. 3

    Receive two opinions

    we disagree politely

The team considers whether sending it crosses the line. You'll get the majority opinion and a minority opinion when the team disagrees. If everyone agrees, we tell you that too.

A sample reply.

Fictional draft, fictional fridge, very real feelings.

To whoever ate my yogurt:

Clearly I'm the only adult in this building. From now on I'll be labeling everything, including myself, since apparently nothing here is safe.

  1. Hands them the last word.
  2. True, but unprovable.
Venting Emails

The question: would sending this as written make you a total piece of shit?

The majority says yes. The minority says no.

Majority opinion

Your anger is correct; your audience is wrong. Forty people will read this and one of them did it. The other thirty-nine will remember the tone, not the yogurt. Send something shorter that makes the thief feel it privately.

Minority opinion

No. Send it, minus the two struck sentences. “Including myself” is the best line in the email and it's earning its keep. Everything that's left is a reasonable person having a documented feeling.

Suggested version

Hi all, someone took my labeled yogurt from the fridge today. If it was a mix-up, no harm done, and a replacement would be appreciated. I'll be labeling everything from now on, including myself.
